Mr. Theodoros Karampatakis | Environmental Impacts of Food Production | Excellence in Research Award

Mr. Theodoros Karampatakis is a geologist specializing in hydrometeorology and natural hazards, with strong expertise in hydroclimatic data analysis, GIS, and environmental modeling. A graduate of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, he holds two Master’s degrees, including a joint program with Université Grenoble Alpes, focusing on hydrometeorological hazards and disaster mitigation. Currently, he serves as Scientific Staff at the Greek Ministry for Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, where he applies geospatial analysis and statistical modeling to assess flood, drought, and wildfire risks. His work supports emergency planning, disaster preparedness, and risk mitigation strategies. Karampatakis has contributed to environmental studies within the Natura 2000 network and actively participates in international scientific conferences. Recognized for academic excellence and research impact, his work focuses on advancing data-driven approaches to understanding and managing extreme hydroclimatic events.
